Covid 19 Update | August 2020

Affecting musicians across the globe, the pandemic has unfortunately changed the landscape for music making in 2020. I had been set to perform roles with Buxton International Festival, Grimeborn Festival and Leeds Opera Festival this summer but sadly all these event had to be postponed. However, during lockdown I have adapted to these challenges and have been creating online content for both Live Music Now and Sound Up Arts, for which I am now an associate artist! This page might be a little quiet for now with many of my online projects not being public, however please rest assured that when I can advertise future concerts with some certainty I will be back regularly updating this website.

Live Music Now | October 2019

Together with duo partner Rachel Fright, Edward has been accepted on to the Live Music Now scheme which will see him deliver interactive music programmes in care homes, hospitals and special schools across the UK. The initiative champions the power of live music for all and Edward's first engagement with the scheme will be at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester!

Recent Competition and Award success! | July 2019

Edward was recently awarded the "Robin Kay Memorial Prize" by the Royal Northern College of Music. Pilgrim | The Pilgrim's Progress | Royal Northern College of Music

Nigel Simeone - Opera Magazine review

"The enormous cast was led by Edward Robinson as a vocally secure, dramatically convincing and sensitively drawn Pilgrim... his effortless sense of line and exemplary diction suggest an impressive future" - Reviewer, Nigel Simeone.

Pilgrim | The Pilgrim's Progress | Royal Northern College of Music

David Parry - Conductor

"Particular mention must go to Edward Robinson as the Pilgrim, who gave a beautifully sung, true, intense and moving account of the role"

Richard Ely - Number9 review

"A special word must be said for Edward Robinson’s performance in the taxing central role. He deployed his flexible baritone well across the opera’s two acts, never sounding strained and projecting well across some of the heaviest orchestration" - Reviewer, Richard Ely.

Soloist | FOYSM Recital The Riverway Centre, Stafford

"The programme opened with the wondrous sound of Baritone, Edward Robinson"

Soloist | In Flanders recital| Royal Northern College of Music

Matthew Connolly - Northern Soul

"As for singing, in a concert featuring “Brexit-ignoring” fare of British and French song (a partnership between the RNCM and the Paris Conservatoire), the richest moments came when an amazing young British baritone, Edward Robinson, sang in French."

Bobinet | La Vie Parisienne | Royal Northern College of Music

Confidential Staff - Manchester Confidential

"I was rather charmed by the warm baritone of Edward Robinson’s reticent Bobinet."

Archebald Grosvenor | Patience | Gilbert & Sullivan

Raymond J Walker - Seen and Heard International 2015

"The ensemble was magnificent, as was Grosvenor’s rendition of “A magnet hung in a hardware shop” where all words were clearly heard... Bunthorne and Grosvenor with well-timed lines were appropriately dressed and amusing in their long-haired wigs with flamboyant pink bow and mustard artist’s hat respectively. Their interaction was beautifully played throughout ".
